Partner FAQs
What is BetterSured?
BetterSured helps consumers organize their insurance, understand their coverage, and connect with qualified agents and brokers.
We send partners well-informed prospects with a clear quote dossier, current policy information, coverage priorities, and the details needed to quote efficiently.
What types of leads will I receive?
BetterSured currently supports:
- 2 policies (e.g. home + 1 auto)
- 3 policies (e.g. home + auto + umbrella, or home + 2 autos)
- 4+ policies (e.g. home + 2 autos + umbrella, or multiple vehicles/properties)
Each customer has actively requested help reviewing and replacing their coverage.
How much does each lead cost?
First-tier partners (currently open) lock in 5-year fixed pricing per lead. Terms subject to change for future partners.
- 2 policies: $50
- 3 policies: $75
- 4+ policies: $100
There are no setup fees, subscriptions, or long-term commitments.
What information is included?
Each lead package may include:
- Customer contact information
- Current and desired coverage details
- Existing limits and deductibles
- Vehicles, drivers, and properties
- Organized quote-request summary
- Relevant policy documents, when provided
Every lead is primed — never just a name and phone number.
Are the leads exclusive?
BetterSured sends a lead to at most three qualified partners to ensure the customer receives appropriate options.
The number of participating partners may vary by market, coverage needs, and availability.
How are leads assigned?
Leads are matched based on:
- Lead and partner location
- Open partner lead demand (the max number of leads a partner has set vs. how many have been relayed each month)
- BetterSured estimated partner win probability
- Past partner performance
- State licensing and service territory
- Carrier access
- Lines of business
- Household complexity
Partners select the states, counties, or ZIP codes they want to serve.
Do I have to accept every lead?
Partners control their territory, supported products, and available lead capacity.
When capacity is open, partners agree to accept matched leads within those settings. Partners may not review a lead’s details and then decline it based on perceived desirability.
Partners can pause future leads or update their capacity at any time, but changes apply only to leads not yet assigned.
How does the lead process work?
BetterSured emails you (the Partner) an organized quote-request PDF and the customer’s contact information, with the customer copied on the introduction.
From there, you:
- Reply to the introduction and contact the customer directly.
- Work with the customer to gather any additional information if needed, and prepare quotes.
- Copy BetterSured on any quotes so we can track progress and support the customer.
- Notify BetterSured immediately if the lead cannot be quoted, and explain the reason.
- Confirm whether a policy was ultimately bound.
You are responsible for all insurance advice, quoting, carrier submissions, binding, and ongoing policy service.
What response time is expected?
Partners should:
- Contact the customer within two business days
- Make reasonable efforts to provide a quote within four business days
- Keep BetterSured informed of major status changes
Fast, professional follow-up improves customer experience and future lead access.
What happens if the customer does not respond?
If a lead does not provide enough information for you to provide a quote, that lead may be refundable — provided you made every effort to collect the needed information.
What if I cannot quote an assigned lead?
A lead may be returned only when the partner discovers a legitimate quoting restriction that was not reasonably identifiable before assignment, such as:
- No appointed carrier will write the property, vehicle, or risk
- The customer is outside the partner’s licensed or approved territory
- The requested coverage falls outside the partner’s approved products
- A carrier moratorium or underwriting restriction prevents quoting
- The customer has an existing documented relationship with the partner
The partner must notify BetterSured promptly, provide the reason, and make reasonable efforts to quote through its available carriers.
A lead may not be returned because it appears difficult, time-consuming, unlikely to close, or commercially unattractive. BetterSured will determine whether the return qualifies.
Are lead fees refundable?
Lead credits may be considered when:
- The contact information is invalid
- The customer is outside the agreed service territory
- The requested product is clearly outside the partner’s approved capabilities
- The lead was sent in error
Credits are not provided because a quote was unsuccessful, uncompetitive, or not purchased.
How does billing work?
Partners are billed for accepted leads according to the agreed pricing.
Billing terms and any lead-credit rules are included in the Partner Agreement.
Can I pause or limit leads?
Yes. Partners can adjust:
- Monthly lead capacity
- Service territory
- Supported coverage types
- Temporary availability
Changes must be confirmed by BetterSured before taking effect.
Is there a long-term commitment?
No. The partnership is month-to-month unless otherwise stated in the Partner Agreement.
Do early partners receive any advantages?
Early, reliable partners may receive:
- Fixed per-lead pricing
- Preferred access to lead volume
- Expanded territory opportunities
- Priority matching
- Input into the partner experience
The right coverage requires the right partners. BetterSured intends to grow with the agencies that consistently serve customers well.
How does BetterSured evaluate partners?
We may consider:
- Response time
- Quote completion
- Customer experience
- Close rate
- Lead acceptance
- Communication quality
- Coverage and carrier fit
Strong performance can result in greater lead volume.
Who owns the customer relationship?
Partners may communicate directly with customers and service any policies they place.
BetterSured may also communicate with customers regarding the quote process, experience, and platform services.
What if I already have the customer in my database?
A partner may decline a lead only if it can show a documented relationship with that customer that existed before BetterSured delivered the lead.
The partner must notify BetterSured within one business day and provide reasonable verification, such as a dated CRM record, prior quote, policy record, or documented contact.
A customer appearing only on a purchased list, inactive marketing database, or undated contact file does not qualify. Partners may not review the lead and then claim a prior relationship.
Approved duplicate leads will not count against the partner’s capacity and will be credited or replaced.
Does BetterSured sell insurance?
No. BetterSured is not acting as the customer’s insurance agent or broker.
Licensed partners are responsible for insurance advice, carrier submissions, quotes, coverage recommendations, binding, and ongoing policy service.
